◣ ☣ ◥ 3D barely ever slept at night. Not that it was her fault. It was unsettling. Sometimes she’d even fall asleep standing up, just in the middle of the day. The dark scared her, somewhat. She was so sensitive during the night, the time of shadows. That’s why she didn’t even flinch when she felt the younger crawling into her bed. An arm draped around him, pulling the little entity closer to her.
“ Hey, buddy. Did you have a nightmare ? “
"…sort of."
There’s a soft exhale as Pawn curls up next to 3D, his talon hand held against his chest.
"Not a nightmare. But I woke up, and it’s scary. Promo keeps going away even when I ask him to stay."
He’s silent for a moment.
"Can I stay here?"

3D pulled the boy’s legs around her waist, letting him snuggle up closer to her. She’s gentle when she holds him close. Her fingers weave into his hair, rubbing at his head almost as to calm him down. Why couldn’t they all just be happy together? Why couldn’t they all just snuggle and forget about their troubles? Ugh.
