It took her a moment to process everything but Yang had quickly caught on.
3D was lied to. Ditched, and abandoned. She felt something; pity. Or anger?
Both? Equal amounts of the emotions swelled in her chest, scarlet flickering
in Yang’s eyes, almost threatening to completely turn red.
Who would do that? And why? Was it really that funny? Did people
really get a kick out of stooping so low? She was infuriated. But in
that moment, Yang would do well to hide it. She took a step forward,
cautiously, slowly. A gentle smile would grace her features, her words
soft, calming.
“You look great.”
◣ ☣ ◥ “ … Really ?? I don’t think so. The only people who told me I looked nice were my parents – and, y'know, parents are always sugar-coating things. But, uhm, thanks. I guess. ”
Alabaster fingers laced with metal ones in front of the entity. She didn’t exactly know to react to getting a compliment. She just wanted to blush, but that would be dumb. It’d look childish. Part of her wants to believe that Yang thinks she actually does look pretty – but she keeps telling herself it’s just pity talking.
Her hands settle on her abdomen, brushing over the white of her dress. It was her mother’s old thing – gorgeous, fit for a bridesmaid. But maybe 3D didn’t want to be pretty. Maybe 3D didn’t want to wear all this makeup. Maybe she just wanted to go to sleep.
“ Thanks … thanks for coming outside and talking to me. Everyone’s just ignored me, for the most part. That’s what they all do. ”
